Unity with Nature

Welcome to the Unity with Nature Committee Resources Page

The Unity with Nature Committee provides a deeply reflective forum for the expression of our spiritual connection with the natural world. We act locally on behalf of Goose Creek Monthly Meeting on projects rising from and supported by the collective spirit of the committee, and we encourage Friends and others to educate themselves and take action concerning the care and restoration of the natural world locally, regionally, nationally, and globally.

Hiking With Friends

2026 Hiking Schedule

WHERE. Patrick & Susan Holden’s home: 19008 Lincoln Rd, Purcellville, VA (roughly 2 miles south of the GCFM house).  Mary Ann Good and Jane Yocum with Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy will lead this walk.

Total walk length — 1.5 to 2.0 miles of moderate walking with lots of stops for viewing birds. Overall, an easy walk through pasture and woods.

Clothing — wear clothing appropriate for the weather. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes/boots. Please bring binoculars and a hat.

Ideally, wear bugs away clothing or clothing treated with permethrin. Ticks could be out by then.

We look forward to seeing everyone and viewing lots of migratory birds.

Unity With Nature Guided Meditations

Online the third Thursday of the month, 7:30 – 8:30 pm. The intention – or guiding theme – of these meditations is to nurture within each of us our kinship with each other and all that we share in this life: the care of our planet, the bond of our human family, the deep and restorative nature of loving kindness and compassionate witness in the service of peace. To sign up to receive the Zoom link each month or for more information, please contact Liz Huntington:  huntington.ea@gmail.com or call Liz at 570-955-8927.

The Goose Creek Unity With Nature Committee

Our committee meets on the fourth Sunday of the month, from 8:30 to 9:30 AM, at the Goose Creek Friends Meeting House in Lincoln, VA. Participants can also join by Zoom. If you have something you would like to share with others related to Unity with Nature, please contact Joey Coburn or Patrick Holden.
