Unity with Nature Committee

Welcome to the Unity with Nature Resources Page

The Unity with Nature Committee provides a deeply reflective forum for the expression of our spiritual connection with the natural world. We act locally on behalf of Goose Creek Monthly Meeting on projects rising from and supported by the collective spirit of the committee, and we encourage Friends and others to educate themselves and take action concerning the care and restoration of the natural world locally, regionally, nationally, and globally.

2026 Programs & Activities

Hiking with Friends

Sunday April 12: Bird Walk — 7:30 – 9:30 a.m.

WHERE. Patrick & Susan Holden’s home: 19008 Lincoln Rd, Purcellville, VA (roughly 2 miles south of the GCFM house).  Mary Ann Good and Jane Yocum with Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy will lead this walk.

Total walk length — 1.5 to 2.0 miles of moderate walking with lots of stops for viewing birds. Overall, an easy walk through pasture and woods.

Clothing — wear clothing appropriate for the weather. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes/boots. Please bring binoculars and a hat.

Ideally, wear bugs away clothing or clothing treated with permethrin. Ticks could be out by then.

We look forward to seeing everyone and viewing lots of migratory birds
