We will be awarding grants for education for the academic year 2019-2020. (Please check below for eligibility requirements.) Students eligible to apply must fill out the application form, print it out, and send it, with the applicant’s most recent official transcript, to Goose Creek Friends Meeting. (Transcripts can take a while for schools to produce, so please start that process early.) Applicants are also required to attend the essay writing meeting on March 9, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. at the Meetinghouse (18204 Lincoln Rd, Purcellville, VA 20132). The essay writing is for both scholarships, as is the application.
SIGNED APPLICATIONS MUST ARRIVE NO LATER THAN MARCH 8, 2019. Please RSVP to email@example.com before March 8, 2019, to let us know you will be coming.
Send your applications with transcripts to:
Goose Creek Friends’ Scholarships, PO Box 105, Lincoln, VA 20160.
The two scholarships available are:
Jane Pancoast Shepherd Scholarship
Jane’s wish was that students from Loudoun County be provided with assistance in their education. Any accredited college or graduate program qualifies as well as George School (which Jane attended).
Goose Creek Friends Meeting Scholarship
The Goose Creek Friends Meeting Scholarship Fund combined several historical funds to award grants to students from Goose Creek Meeting and the greater Lincoln community seeking education after high school.
If you are a student who cannot attend the March 9th writing session, please let the committee know before March 9, 2017 so that we may schedule a remote essay writing time.
